1999/2000 Potomac Intermediate School Basketball
Game 14 Summary: Potomac 54 St John's 30
February 17, 2000 - The Potomac
Intermediate School basketball team beat St John's 54-30 to remain undefeated with a record of 14-0 with one game remaining in the regular season. |
Potomac dominated this game from start to finish. The Panthers took an 18-0 lead. It took a Potomac player to tip the ball in for St John's first points. St John's tried to press Potomac, but they just ate it up by getting it to Brent Locey at mid court. Brent just would dribble up court and dish to the open man for two. Potomac slowed things down in the second quarter, but still managed a 13 point lead at the half, up 26-13. |
In the third quarter, the Panthers went on a tear, realing off 20 points in the quarter to take a commanding 46-21 lead. Michael Fischer got hot with some nice drives and pull up jumpers. In the fourth quarter, the Panthers worked the ball, and played solid defense. The crowd came alive after Pete Dalla crossed A St John's player on a drive to the basket and after Pete rejected another player's shot the next time down the floor. The crowd began chanting his name, wanting more. Then Drew Durbin got the crowd on their feet with a fabulous drive to the hoop with a nothing but net runner in the key. |
Michael Fischer had an excellent game with 17 points on 7-8 from the field, including a 3 pointer, and 2-2 from the line. Marcus Ginyard scored 9 points followed by Brent Locey and Chris McNerney with 8 each. Brent Locey led the team in rebounds with 7, followed by Jason Acqui with 6. Brent also dished out a game high 7 assists, thanks to the over playing St John's press. |
