Game 13 Summary: Potomac 53 St Stephens 35

February 16, 2000 - The Potomac Intermediate School basketball team beat St Stephens 53-35 to remain undefeated with a record of 13-0.

Potomac came out on fire. The Panther defense sufficated St Stephens, turning steals into fast break points. Since Potomac was over playing, St Stephen's did get some easy baskets in the quarter to keep within reach at 20-11. In the second quarter, it was pretty much the same, with Potomac increasing their lead to 18 points at the half 37-19.

In the second half, the Panthers slowed things down, but managed to increse the lead to 24 at the end of three quarters. St Stephens reduced the lead down to 12 points in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of several Potomac turnovers. The Panthers hung tuff though, finishing the game strong and putting an end to any thought of a St Stephens come back.

Marcus Ginyard had an excellent game with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 steals. Brent Locey also scored in double figures with 16 points, followed by Michael Fischer with 7 points.

Potomac's next games will be on Thursday, February 17th against St Johns at home at 2:15pm.  Go Panthers!
