Game 11 Summary: Potomac 63 Landon 35

February 9, 2000 - The Potomac Intermediate School basketball team beat Landon for the second time this season 63-35 at the Preston gym to remain undefeated with a record of 11-0.

The Panthers started fast and never let up, except for a brief let down at the end of the second quarter. Potomac kept the pressure on with a half court trap that kept Landon on their toes. The result was a bunch of Potomac steals (20 in all for the game). The score at the end of the quarter was 19-8, Potomac. In the second quarter, Potomac increased their lead to 20 points, but saw it cut in half at the end of the first half as Landon started converting turnovers into quick points off their full court press. Landon actually out scored the Panthers in the quarter, but Potomac still led 32-22 at the half.

In the third quarter, Potomac got back on track with a sufficating defense that converted Landon turnovers into money. This time Potomac's 20 point lead would hold up. The Panthers held Landon to only 5 points in the quarter to take a commanding 47-27 lead into the final period. Potomac didn't let up. Landon was held to under 10 points in the fourth quarter for the third time in the game as Potomac added to their lead to win by the final margin of 28 points.

Michael Fischer led the way for Potomac with 21 points, followed by, Brent Locey (10), Chris McNerney (10), JD Deardourff (7), Marcus Ginyard (6), and Robbie dePicciotto (4).

Potomac's next game will be on Thursday, February 10th against St Albans at home at 2:30pm.  Go Panthers!
