Game 10 Summary: Potomac 64 St Albans 48

February 4, 2000 - The Potomac Intermediate School basketball team beat St Albans 64-48 in a very spirited game to remain undefeated with a record of 10-0.

Potomac finally played St Albans in a rematch of last year's Championship game. It was a long time coming after the first meeting of the season was postponed due to snow. They will get to play each other again next week at Potomac. The Panthers were ready for this game. The players wanted to prove that winning last year's Championship wasn't a fluke. Potomac out played St Albans early in every aspect except getting the ball to fall through the hoop. The ball just wouldn't go in for the Panthers, but they played tough defense, limiting the Bulldog's opportunities. St Albans hit some early 3's to take a 14-11 lead after one quarter. In the second quarter, Potomac continued to play solid defense and got the ball to drop more to take a 30-26 lead at the half.

In the second half, the Bulldogs continued to find a way to light it up for 3's to keep the game close. Potomac continued its dominance though, increasing their lead to 7 points 46-39 after 3 quarters. The Panthers put it into high gear in the fourth quarter to run away with the win.

Marcus Ginyard had an excellent game with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals. Michael Fischer, broken finger and all, shook off the pain to score 16 points. Brent Locey added 15 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 9 steals.

Potomac's next games will be on Wednesday, February 9th against Landon at home at 2:30pm.  Go Panthers!
