Game 10 Summary: Potomac 49 Flint

February 18, 1999 - In the tenth game of the season, the
Potomac 7th grade basketball team beat Flint Hill 49-33 on the road. |
This game started out very competitive with neither team taking control in the
first half. Chris McNerney and Brent Locey provided some much needed fire power with
6 points each as Potomac rallied to take a 22-18 lead at the half. The game stayed close most of the second half as well with both teams trading baskets. The Panthers finally got on track by cracking down in their full court press and driving to the basket. In fact, Potomac spent most of the later part of the game at the free throw line where they sank 13 out of 21 attempts. In the end, with Potomac up by a comfortable margin, Flint Hill was forced to foul to try to stay in it. Potomac's scoring effort was led by Brent Locey with 18 points followed by Michael Fischer with 11 and Chris McNerney with 9. Pete Dalla went 2-3 from the field and had 3 steals and 2 rebounds. Michael Murphy pulled down 3 rebounds and had 2 steals. Potomac's record improves to 8-2 for the season with the win.
