Game 3 Summary: Potomac 39 Bullis

January 20, 1999 - In the third game of the season, the Potomac
7th grade basketball team beat the Bullis School 39-9 at Potomac's Chester Gym. |
The Panthers got off to a fast start and never let up.
Potomac out scored Bullis in each of the four quarters. The first quarter
ended with Potomac securing a 10 point lead brought about by a growling defense. The
Panthers held Bullis to just one point in the quarter. The second quarter was more
even, but Potomac managed to extend their lead to 12 points 19-7 at the half. In the third quarter, the Panthers again extended their lead to 17 points with Michael Murphy hitting a buzzer beater as time expired in the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Potomac ran away from Bullis scoring 13 points while not allowing Bullis to score in the quarter. Michael Fischer scored in double figures with 14 points
followed by Pete Dalla with 6 points, Brent Locey with 5 points, and Jason Aqui with 4
points. JD Deardourff pulled down a game leading 6 rebounds and also had a steal and
a block shot. |
