1999 Potomac 7th Grade Basketball
Game 1 Summary: Potomac 56 Capital
Hill Day 16
January 13, 1999 - In the first game of the season, the Potomac
7th grade basketball team beat Capital Hill Day School 56-16 at Potomac's Chester gym. |
From the very beginning Capital Hill day was over matched
against the more talented panthers. The first quarter was ugly, with Potomac taking
an early 10-0 lead and ending the first quarter up 24-2. Potomac's full court press
work well in the first quarter. Luckily for Capital Hill Day, it worked so well that
the panthers fell back into a half court defense the rest of the game because of the
lopsided score. As a result, all the Potomac players got plenty of playing time,
adding to the experience that will be needed down the road against tougher opponents. Michael Fischer and Chris McNerney each scored in double figures with 12
points followed by Brent Locey with 8 points. Jason Aqui, Robby de Picciotto, JD
deardourff, Michael Murphy, and Cooper Jones each scored 4 points. Potomac's defense
was also excellent recording 16 steals during the game. |
Potomac's next game will be on Tuesday, January 19th at the Burgandy Farm
School at 2:30pm. Go Panthers! Click the Box Score link above for detailed player statistics. |
