Rusty Wallace

The New Millennium

In early February, I had an opportunity to meet Rusty and to obtain his autograph.  This came through my good friend, Dave Porter who runs Spectator Sports in Poquoson, Virginia.  And anyone who lives in the Tidewater area should certainly go by to see Dave.   We drive an hour and a half to go to his shop and believe me!!! --- it is worth the trip!!!!

Rusty was great.  He looked tanned, rested and ready to do battle in the coming season and certainly we wish him the best!!!!  Below are a few pictures I took of Rusty while he was signing autographs.

Rusty acquired his first pole of the new millennium at Rockingham.  Looking at the expression on his face, you would never guess he had just made the pole winning run.

The win at Bristol in March was number 50 and Rusty is obviously elated to have finally reached this milestone.

The Bristol win was followed by a second pole at Martinsville

This was a good day for the Wallace Family
as Rusty sat on the pole with youngest
brother, Kenny on the outside pole.  Just a
few hours earlier, Rusty's middle brother,
Mike had won the pole for the Craftsmen
       Trucks.

The third pole came in early May for the Pontiac Excitement
400 at Richmond, one of Rusty's favorite tracks.

Driver and crew chief both look
      pretty happy about this one!!

A smooth run at Dover on in June netted the
fourth Bud Pole Award for the year.

We're on a roll here, guys!!!!!!
