So why do I like Evander?
A Hero Rises
The
time finally came for someone to step out and claim superiority.
This happened one sunny afternoon when I saw the power of
"Iron" Mike Tyson. He was the first guy I seen that
could literally end a fight with one punch. (This doesn't mean
that no one could do that before. It just means that Tyson was
the first I seen.) He totally annihilated Mike Spinks, and I was
convinced he was the man that could live up to the legend of Rocky Balboa. I had high expectations because Rocky was pretty bad ass. But Tyson manhandled his
opponents left and right and seemed virtually unstoppable. I was
so happy that someone in 'real life' could live up to the
expectations that Rocky had engraved in my brain.
This was how boxing should be, but this all changed the night
"Iron" Mike lost his championships to 'Buster' Douglas.
I was in shock. I didn't know what to do. In 10 seconds my one
hope had faded away into mediocrity.
