Sports Club "Spartak" - Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Page

Sports Club "Spartak" exists to promote recreational and competitive Freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling for kids and adults all weights, ages, and skill levels. The club offers coaching, an outstanding instructional staff with one of the highest wrestlers to staff ratio under National Champion, Mike Timen, a roster of members, and over 5000 square feet of regulation mats. Spartak's emphasis is on safety, and fun and friendly competition, which is held all year long. Wrestling not only builds strength and endurance, but it's also a great way to develop assertiveness and self-confidence. The organization offers weekly instruction in basic freestyle technique and beginners are welcome. For those who have high school or college experience but may no longer be interested in tournament competition, the club is a perfect way to return to the mat and test your skills as a recreational class.

"Spartak" works out on Tuesday and Thursday, from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at 7561 Sunset Blvd. Hollywood, CA 90046 and is sanctioned by USA Wrestling. Workout starts with warm-up drills, followed by coaching in basic technique. Each practice ends with open wrestling time. New members and participants should bring gym shorts, briefs, T-shirt, and socks. The wrestling club was formed in 1997 by Ukrainian National Champion, Mike Timen and already the club has raised AAU National Champion, Lev Faytelson, AAU National Champion and California State Champion, Shimon Finkelshtein, and California State Champion, Igor Ladyszhenskiy, and many other wrestling team members who won local tournament competitions.
