IT'S PLAYOFF TIME!
What an emotional Game 4! The return of injured Wings Vladimir Konstantinov and Sergei Mnatsakonov brought out the best in the NHL. Detroit fans, Red Wings, and Stars players joined in a heartwarming cheer to welcome them home. Slava Kozlov scored the winning goal, perhaps in honor of his friends. It was a memorable day for Detroit and the Wings. I think that Vladdie and Sergei's return will give the Red Wings some extra inspiration, another reason to keep winning. Dallas made a comeback and gave fans cause to bite their nails, but the Wings prevailed and took and 3-1 lead in the series. Now it's back to Dallas to finish this one up! Wings in 5!
In Game 5, Ozzie let in another 90 footer. He came back like crazy in Game 6 with a shut out! The Detroit fans weren't about to let him get down! We are so ready for the Capitals!
Here's how the West Finals went:

Dallas Stars vs. Detroit Red Wings
Detroit wins, 4-2
Game 1: Detroit 2, Dallas 0
Game 2: Dallas 3, Detroit 1

Game 5: Dallas 3, Detroit 2 (OT)

Pictures from the West Finals:
A goal by Martin LaPointe bewilders Eddie Belfour.
Pat Verbeek is stopped by Osgood in the third. He stopped 14 shots.
The Wings celebrate Lapointe's goal in the 2nd.
That's mature! Belfour has been in this league too long to pull that cheap a shot on Martin Lapointe's crotch. As Scotty said, "The guy is married!"
Kirk Maltby had a huge goal in Game 4. I love it when the Grind Line scores!
Slava Kozloz scores the game-winner, perhaps in tribute to Konstantinov and Mnatsakonov. The Wings look to finish this series in Dallas.
Welcome home Vladdie and Sergei! I think JLA actually moved when Bud Lynch announced their return. So good to see them back in Detroit where they belong.
