Purdue's Greatest Moments

These are just of my opinion, and just strictly from memory. I have only been watching Purdue Basketball since the 89-90 season, and I have probably left many great moments out.
BEST TEAM PERFORMANCE

1) 1991 vs. Ohio State
Unranked Purdue shocked the #2 team in the nation behind great efforts by seniors Jimmy Oliver (27 pts) and Chuckie White (21 pts) by a score of 72 to 67 on senior night.

2) 1994 vs. Kansas
#3 Purdue had its hands full against the #13 Jayhawks in the 1994 Sweet Sixteen as Purdue topped Kansas 83-78 behind Glenn Robinson's 44 points and Counzo Martin's 29, leading Gene Keady to his first Elite Eight appearance. I had the pleasure of attending that game, and believe me, it was worth every dime I payed.

3) 1997 at Indiana
Unranked Purdue won at #24 Indiana for the second straight season. Brian Cardinal scored 25 points in the 89-87 OT victory, as Chad Austin hit a game winning fade-away from 17 feet at the buzzer. Purdue swept IU on the season and finished three games ahead of them in the conference standings, yet at the end of the season, IU was in the Top 25 and Purdue wasn't. Makes sense, doesn't it??!!!

4) 1990 at Indiana
Unranked Purdue won at #8 Indiana behind great efforts by Ryan Berning and Chuckie White. The team over came a double digit halftime deficit to win 81-79 in OT.

5) 1998 at Michigan State
#10 Purdue won at #9 MSU to rob the Spartans of an outright conference title. The final score was 99-96 in overtime as Brad Miller led the boilers with 26 points.

6) 1994 at Michigan
#9 Purdue won at #3 Michigan to take the conference title, taking it from the Wolverines. Glenn Robinson scored 37, hitting the game winner with less than two seconds left on the clock to make it 95-94.

7) 1992 vs Indiana
Unranked Purdue defeated the #4 hoosiers, spoiling their chance of a tie with Ohio State for the conference title. It was senior night, and seniors Woody Austin and Craig Riley responded with 20 points and 15 points, respectively, leading the boilers to a 61-59 upset.

8) 1995 at Michigan State
#25 Purdue controlled the #7 Spartans on State's home floor, as Counzo Martin scored 27 while holding down Shawn Respert to 12, leading Purdue to a 78-69 upset.

9) 1996 at Michigan
#18 Purdue destroyed the #17 Wolverines 80-59 at Crisler Arena as Purdue placed five in double figures.

12) 1996 vs. Iowa
Unranked Purdue destroyed the again #10 Hawkeyes 85-61 while putting six players in double figures, in the conference opener for both teams.

Chad Austin scored 30 in the loss. Even though Purdue was blown out by a much better Gopher team, Austin's spectacular performance still should not be overlooked.
