hobbling around seattle went okay, as planned! okay, not exactly as planned, because poachie actually planned out this walking tour, to see the historic buildings, but in the end we only managed to see one, which we simply happened to walk by. oh well.

but we did go to the pike public market, which was wonderfully vibrant. greeted by beautiful displays of flowers, fruits, vegetables and seafood, it was quite an eye treat. there were supposed to be "performances" of the fish hawkers tossing their fish around too, but we didn't see any. we saw them tossing crabs though! the crowd wasn't easy on the semi-crippled me, especially since both poach and i were also lugging our bags along [light luggage, but nonetheless quite troublesome!] i opted for using just one crutch, because i'm not used to swinging around with two crutches, and lucky i did too, cos there's no way i would have been able to swing my way through the crowd on two crutches. using just one made me more flexible, and more capable of tripping the people in my way. wahahahaha...no, i didn't do it!

after spending the morning in the market, we had lunch in a restaurant in the market where supposedly a scene of sleepless in seattle was shot. haha, now i've been to a celebrity restaurant eh? the rest of the afternoon was spent mostly hobbling to the seattle art museum, and hobbling around in the museum itself. it was a nice quiet treat, quite a contrast to the lively market in the morning too.

we spent the night at a hotel near the airport, which had dubious characters hanging around, and not enough tv channels. haha. lucky poachie was around, despite our physical fatigue from the day of activities, we actually managed another nice chat before sleeping. i went to sleep thinking how much i'd miss her once i leave the next morning. and indeed, i miss her already.

the flight today went well, i decided that it's better if i use the wheelchair in the airport. especially since i only have 30 minutes to make my flight connection at one of the stops. i felt like such an invalid, sitting there, slowly going through the crowd that undoubtedly noticed how pathetic my injury is anyway. [especially since i got to cut all the queues, security and boarding.] at the st louis airport, the guy pushing my wheelchair happened to be this rather old guy too, i felt so bad having him huff and puff pushing me along.

anyway, in all, this was a good trip. despite all that happened, i think it was good. at the very least, it served it purpose of bringing me the comfort of being around my best friend. now that i'm back on campus, once more facing the dry lonely world of classes, homework, labs, suddenly my ankle's pain seems more unbearable once again.

i probably should say more, but i'm very tired right now. as in physically. terrible muscle ache all over my body, i didn't realize how unfit i am, like my right leg is on the verge of cramping up now, just cos it's been doing the work of two legs. and my back, my arms, pain pain pain. gotta sleep early tonight, so i have enough energy for class tomorrow. sigh. back to school. poach says i'm a brave trooper, i sure hope i continue to be, so i can handle all the challenges facing me upon my return.

ganbatte ne, atashi!
