Chess is a great game. Here's how:

Correspondence Chess is a boon for those who cannot get sufficient scope for playing chess over the board (OTB) due to

Correspondence Chess is an excellent tool for improving the standard of one's play and hence even those who regularly play OTB chess supplement it with correspondence chess. The reasons are:

With the advent of e-mail (and web-server) correspondence chess has become very affordable. One can send a large number of moves to different opponents in India as well as abroad at the cost of a single telephone call, or even less, if you have a broadband connection. One even saves the cost of transport to the local club.

Correspondence Chess gives one the flexibility of indulging in the pastime (playing chess tournaments at National and International level) at a time of one's choice anytime during the day or night in the comfort of one's own home. This is the only game in which you can become a World Champion without leaving your own drawing room!

AICCF started its activities for the benefit of chess lovers in 1993. We started the first email tournament in 1999. Now email has come to the point where it is probably more popular than the postal game. However, the Internet and email are technologies not available to everybody. So we urge members to continue playing enthusiastically by post card as well.

The International Section of AICCF was begun soon after inception. The activities include Friendly Internationals, Olympiads and individual ICCF tournaments. Two of our members reached the pinnacle of success securing titles of Senior International Master and International Master with GM norm. Quite a few members have begun to make a mark on the recently commissioned ICCF web-server.
