The management committee has decided that all players are allowed to use computers freely to analyse their postal and email games and decide their replies on the basis of computer engines if they want. This is inline with the ICCF rules in force since long. This rule comes into immediate effect not withstanding any instruction to the contrary at the start of the tournament. Thus AICCF has at last stopped its restriction on computer use, a rule which could never really be enforced as it is impossible to verify if a player is using a computer or not. Just because everyone will use Fritz 7 it does not mean the end of creativity. True, there wont be any obvious and not so obvious tactical errors, but then computers are no use in long term strategy, so the better player will still be on the winning side.
