PLEASE, BRING YOUR CELL PHONE!
If you're planning to go on a club ride and you own a cellular phone PLEASE bring it with you. Why bring a cellular phone on a club ride? You ask!
By doing so you would provide much needed access to "911" in the case of an emergency. Seconds count in medical emergencies like heart attack and stroke. Bicycle/car accidents can be very serious requiring immediate on-site professional care. Riders can loose control and fall off their bikes. Causing injury to themselves like broken bones.
Although accidents like these are very rare on our rides. It's still a good idea to be prepared.
You don't need to have your phone activated with a cellular service provider to call "911". Just slip your phone into a ziplock bag (so it won't get wet) and into your jersey pocket. Switching it off saves the battery and prevent annoying calls while you ride.
You can play a BIG part in saving some one's life by providing access to 911.~~~Thank you!~~~ : )

John Ziglar wins "The Rider Who Cares Award" for the second time this year for being there with his cellular phone on May 13th, the Mt.June ride.
