WE NEED MONEY FOR OUR NEW TRACK
This being the case, we have decided to have a fundraiser. It will be a night at Doyles restaurant in Mordi (remember that fantastic night you had presentation night, there again), and should see a night of hard core boogying from the young uns, and much headshaking from those of the older generation. That said however, we do hope to see Farrsy and others of his ilk boogy on down for at least one version of the Bus Stop.
For details, download this PDF file and print it out, photocopy it, and drag along as many of your friends as you possibly can to make it a night to remember. Also, if you bring more people along to this night, it means that we won't have to have another one to make up the rest of the money. Some people do get grumpy when you bug them to come to too many things.

Here at Mentone, we are an environmentally conscious lot (that doesn't mean that we all eat mungbeans and tofu, walk around in bare feet all the time, smell really bad and have dreadlocks - thats only Hanras and Neighbs) and have decided that emails and internet means saving trees. As much of our communication is by email as we can possibly manage, and like to use this page as a major means of communication between the decision makers and the members. This not only saves trees but money for the club, and keeps our fees down.
We are all about Athletics, and we love it, and hope that all the members (and non-members) can help us with the development of our sport. We hope to be informative, and entertaining, with a background of the sport that we love. If there is anything that you feel we can do to make it a little more up-vibe and interesting, then email US and he will see what he can do. Remember - This is our Planet.
Athletics, although an individual sport, is one where having a good gang of team-mates to cheer you on makes a big difference. Mentone is a club that prides itself on making a lot of noise and being a fun place to hang out. Our club has a good mix of athletes, with lots of promising juniors, male and female, some outstanding prospects just out of junior ranks, throwers, jumpers, runners, and a few older blokes (like André) who just get a kick out of pretending that their singlets still fit.

COMING EVENTS
Our Track - The submission formulated by Garry Spencer and Andrew Farr for funding for a new track was been passed on to the State Government by the Kingston Council and have received notice that the submission was approved. We will be holding fundraising activities and the like to help contribute to the extra $21,000 that we need to find before construction begins.
RECENTLY AROUND MENTONE.......
Emma Cochrane was off to Beijing for the World University Games in September, until she injured her knee, and missed out after having an operation. She is now back training on her way to a full recovery and hopefully the CG's next year.
Aaron Neighbour returned from Holland, with a lady friend rumoured to be following in the next few weeks. Aaron has been training well, and we look for some very big throws from him in the coming season.
COMPETITION
The Australian University Games are happening in Sydney next week, so stay tuned for results from on and off the field. We all know that Boyesy will have some stories for us by the end of the week - just like everybody else will have stories about Boyesy.

Interclub
Starts on October 13th. Don't forget to cough up your registration to
June before then so you don't have the officials bugging you because you
don't have your numbers.
