N.B. Challenges without a valid challenge code will be ignored! If you do not have the current challenge code, ask for it by email.
A boxer can have only ONE challenge at a time for any upcoming card.
If you change a challenge, your most recent challenge
will be used for matchmaking.
Once a challenge has
been accepted by another boxer, the match will not be broken and you must go
ahead with that fight. There's just one exception ...
if a regular match is postponed because one boxer has to
sit out a card after a grudge match, then the boxer who would be
otherwise be left without an opponent because of the grudge match
can make a new challenge.
You can make two kinds of challenge:
Challenge a specific opponent
Challenges to Russian boxers will AUTOMATICALLY be accepted; however, boxers who are on the visiting Russian team, not listed in the regular WEBA standings, can only be challenged within your own weight class. (Those visiting Russian boxers are marked with * in the challenge list.)
Only the Russian boxers who are in the regular WEBA rankings (i.e. have fought all their bouts within the WEBA) are eligible for the WEBA titles. All Russian boxers are eligible for the world titles but no Russian boxers are eligible for the junior titles. Fights with Russian boxers pay the regular rates (including premiums for title fights).
A challenge to "anyone" means that you will accept any opponent selected for you by WEBA. Only one challenge per boxer can be "active"; if you make more than one, we use only the last one for matchmaking.
In scheduling fights, WEBA may limit the number of fights per card. In that case we will give priority to what we consider the most competitive matches (based on the current WEBA rankings) and to possible title fights.
Once a challenge has been accepted, neither boxer is allowed to back out of it!
