Where do the boxer pictures come from?
Wherever we can find them! Some are video captures, some scanned from magazines, some harvested from odd corners of the Internet. Some are really kick boxers, but in regular boxing stances. Some (Ling, Chai, Keller, Tyee, Roberts) were provided by the boxers' owners. We need more pictures if WEBA keeps growing, so if you have any that are suitable (decently clothed, realistic!) please let us know. We have told many of the owners who their boxers are in real life (if we know that ourselves). Ask us if you're curious about yours but we haven't told you yet!
How do I update my boxer's role-play profile?
Send an E-mail with what you want to say and we'll add it to the page. (We have to gatekeep these role-plays as we have to use a password to make updates at Yahoo!Geocities.)
When can I start training?
Watch your the earnings column in the standings/rankings on the main page. It tracks whether you are entitled to add points by training. Email any training requests or questions about WEBA rules to wibahome@yahoo.com..
Why do we need forms for challenges, can't we just use email?
WEBA started out with an all-email challenge system. It didn't work well.
Some people made ambiguous challenges, challenges got "lost" in other mail,
all updates to the state of challenges had to go to everyone and if email
went astray it became frustrating and confusing. The Web page
lets everyone check the state of the challenges whenever
you need them and everyone can have the same info at any time. Using a standard
form also makes it easier to read challenges, and separates them from other
messages in our mailbox. If you can't get to the website, or if the forms don't
appear to work, (there are occasional glitches at Geocities) then
you can always send a challenge by
email. It helps if you make the subject line "WEBA Challenge" and keep
it strictly about the challenge, not other WEBA matters.
Why do we need the challenge codes? The codes are needed because anyone who surfs into the Website can enter a challenge if they want to make mischief. There hasn't been much of this, but there has been some. Having the challenge codes protects us from spoof challenges and it may cut down the number of spoofers by making it obvious that spoofing won't work. |
