Cup Winners' Cup, "A" pool - Brno, Czech Republic.

Grosseto (Italy) vs. TRNAVA - 11:0

Final score looks worse than guys really played. The Angels played again very well against highly favourite teame from Italy, and till the end of 3rd inning Italians were winning just 1:0. A break came when the head umpire ruled a foul ball as a HR to favor of Italians what really helped them and on the other hand badly hurt the Angels.

TRNAVA vs. Kinheim (Holland) - 0 : 3.

After really fantastic performance we got defeated by Dutch team 3:0. Guys did what they could but luck was not on their side. They were losing at the beginning of the 9th inning just by one run, 1:0 and leading in hits by score 6:5.

Trnava lost their first game of the season.

On Saturday's game the Angels beat SK Felo Cierna Voda 12:9 On Sunday the Angels met the Fighting Flies and a number 13 (June 13th) wasn't very lucky for them. The Angels lost their first league game of this season very controversial way when game was scratched to favour of the Fighting Flies after 7. inning. What really happened? The umpire Mojmir Jankovic ejected our short stop and a head coach Ronald Kupka and because Trnava had already used all their players from the bench they didn't have substitution for Kupka and the umpire had to scratch the game to favor of the Flies with the final score 9:0.

Obligatory Win for the Angels.

It was a batting practice for the Angels players and obligatory win by 13 runs, 15:2. BK Apollo was not able to resist to the Angels team except the beginning of the game when they had a few nice hits. They scored their two runs after errors of Trnava's defense. Trnava had whole game under control so, they could try all kinds of offensive and defensive signals and plays, which they will need at upcoming European Cup Winners' Cup in Brno, Czech Republic. The Angels' Winning Streak Continues.

Not even this week we found a team who would be able to break our winning streak. In the first game, which we played on Saturday, May 22nd, we beat, after not very convincing performance in the defense, the team Bratislava Fighting Flies 11:7 The game was developing to our favor till 7th inning when we were already leading by 8 runs. But then, after terrible errors made by a short stop Ronald Kupka, the Flies cut our lead by only 4 runs. In the second game, which was played the next day on May 23rd, we played against the last team of the A division, Apollo Bratislava. An opportunity to play and to show their skills got whole Angels dugout. They did not disappoint the coach and won the game easily by score 14:1 An another very good news is that the Angels have just finished a reconstruction of their baseball field, which should be one of the best in Europe and comparable with very good college fields in the USA. So, they can start their preparation for the upcoming highest event of this season, European Cup Winners Cup pool "A" in Brno, Czech Republic.

Trnava gained another win in the best game of the season against the defending champions, Bratislava Spiders.

Trnava experimented but won.

The Angels' Winning Season Opener.

Yesterday, on April 24th the Angels played their first game of the 1999 season against Bratislava Fighting Flies, in which they won by 11 runs, 15:4. Trnava started the game with a pitcher Marian Krasny and closed it with a closer Black. Both pitchers showed what was expected from them. The game was very close until 3rd inning. First home run and also first run of the season hit and scored shortstop Ronald Kupka in his first at bat in 2nd inning. Flies tied the game in 3rd inning 2:2, but it didn't hurt the Angels. They played relaxed with enthusiasm and hunger for baseball. They were gradually increasing the lead at 5:2, 8:2 and at the final score 15:4. Except a shortstop Ronald Kupka, who went 3 for 5 with one HR and 5 RBI, a catcher Peter Trebichalsky presented himself with a good performance when he caught 2 stealers of 3. The Angels are playing a next game again on the road in Bratislava, against SK Felo Bratislava - Cierna Voda, on May 1st, 1999 at 10:00 am. Line up 9.Cordas (2*), 2. Trebichalsky (3), 8.
