The Warhawks came out ready to play. Vienna played tight defense and moved the ball well on offense. There was only one problem, the ball just wouldn’t go through the hoop. The Warhawk’s created a lot of inside shots and open outside looks, but the shots didn’t fall. This allowed Springfield to stay close the entire half. The Warhawk’s didn’t get discouraged though and hung in there to go up 8 points 25-17 at the half.

Vienna had all the advantages: speed, height, and the numbers. All of these showed in the second half as the Warhawk’s opened it up. Vienna shot 45% from the field and 75% from the line in the second half enroute to a 26 point win.

Every Vienna player scored in the game. Two players scored in double figures, Chris Holmes (15) and Stuart Rawlinson (10). Chris Wood had 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Chris McNerney had 6 points, 5 steals and 4 blocked shots. Bill Chappell pulled down a game high 7 rebounds and scored 8 points on 4-8 shooting. The win improves Vienna’s record to 3-0. The next game is Tuesday, July 20^th @ 7:15pm against Southwest at Oakton High School. Go Warhawks!
