1999/2000 Game 23 Summary: Vienna  74  Great Falls 51

March 9, 2000 - The Vienna Warhawks 13 Year Old Boys County Select Team beat Great Falls 74-51 in the Semi-Finals of the Fairfax County Tournament at Carson Middle School. Vienna will play McLean, winners over Southwest, in the Championship Game.

This game was some what of a mis match. Vienna had a distinct height advantage, superior guard play, and bench depth. The Warhawks game out with a full court press to establish the tempo. Great Falls passed the test in the first few minutes, but finally subcombed to the pressure. Vienna dominated the boards, totalling 48 rebounds with 22 of them on the offensive end. Vienna led 32-14 at the half.

In the second half, Vienna kept the pressure on, increasing the lead into the twenties. Once the Warhawks stopped pressing, Great Falls made a run with some great outside shooting, but it wasn't enough. The Warhawks would win by 23 points.

Derek Feussner led Vienna with 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Sawyer Sams scored 9 points and pulled down 14 rebounds. The Warhawks had balanced scoring overall, with every Vienna player putting up points in the game.

Vienna extends its unbeaten streak to 23 games with the win. They will put it all on the line against McLean in the Championship Game on Saturday at 8:30pm at Yorktown High School. Go Warhawks!
