This is the third annual 4-man golf scramble. A scramble allows players to be competitive but removes the pressure of hitting an occasional "bad shot". We will allow you to create your own teams of 4 golfers. Teams will be posted as everyone signs up. This year the golf outing we be taking place on Saturday July 7th. We will be playing at Beachwood golf course. This year will are using a shotgun start format so that we can all finish at the same time.

The cost will include 18 holes with a cart. We will also be collecting an additional $5 per person who would like to drink. We will have a keg on the course. There will be awards for the first place team, runner-up as well as individual prizes. We will be meeting at Jeff's Bar that evening to give out the awards for the scramble.

The rules for the scramble are listed below.

A-1 Scramble Format

On every hole, each team member may hit a tee shot. The team then selects one of the tee shots from which to play. All team members may then hit from that position. This procedure is repeated until the ball is holed.

A-2 Two Tee Shots

Each team member must hit and use a minimum of two tee shots per eighteen (18) hole round.

A-3 Selected Shot

Each team member may place his or her ball within one club-length of the selected shot, no nearer to the hole. If the selected shot is played from a hazard, bunker, rough, fairway, or fringe of the green, the ball may be placed within one club-length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole, but it must remain in the hazard, bunker, rough, fairway, or fringe of the green.

A-4 Improving Lie of Ball (Through the Green)

Each team member may improve his or her lie by hand-placing the ball or by moving it with his or her clubhead (except when in a hazard).

A-5 Improving Lie of Ball (In a hazard)

A team member may improve his/her lie by hand-placing the ball only. The ball is in play when the player addresses it. In a bunker, the bunker may be raked prior to any ball being placed. Any player in the group may rake the bunker.

A-6 Improving Lie of Ball (Putting Green)

When putting, the ball must be placed within one putterhead length of the selected shot, no nearer the hole. Teams are cautioned not to make tap-ins until all team members have had the opportunity to make the team's original putt. Once the ball is holed out, no further strokes are permitted.

A-7 Standing on an Extension of Line of Play

Team members may stand behind one another (on an extension of the line of play) while they are hitting a shot or putt.

A-8 One-Ball Rule

The one-ball rule is not in effect. Players may change the make or type of ball between shots, between holes or at any time.

A-9 Mulligans

Each team member is allowed Zero mulligans per eightteen holes. There are no mulligans in a 4 man scramble. Because this is a scramble it is not necesssary to take a mulligan if your teammate has hit a good shot.

Note: Remember we're all playing to have fun and everyone wants to win. Don't get frustrated or down if you are not playing well. This is what your partners are for. Remember to take your time but don't waste time. We will have a few groups so we need to keep moving. If you hit a bad shot, go pick it up and play from your partners position. There's no sense in wasting time re-hitting. Be careful with your mulligan use it wisely. We don't have an official so it is up to you to be honest and keep your own score.
