We have been dealing with these attitudes from the first game the Blackhawks won in 1995 at Lake Rivie a. | Comments: You know what? I have to admit, I don't know how we do it either. We don't practice and our teams are not filled entirely with what some people would refer to as "A" players. Maybe we are lucky, who knows? But if it's luck then we have been lucky for 6 years. Maybe I should use that luck to playing the lottery. But I have to disagree with you on the "No hockey skills" comment. I think that these kids are all incredible hockey players. There are current and former Blackhawks on so many traveling ice hockey tournament teams, roller hockey teams and varsity ice h ckey teams, that I think the skills of our players does not need to be discussed. As far as the coaches go, I will admit my knoweldge is limited to what I have learned over the past 6 years. Prior to coaching hockey I knew nothing about it. But I have learned enough to see many of my teams acheive a lot of success and many of the kid that have played for move acheive some degree of personal success in hockey. But, I like many of the Blackhawks have spent a lot of time learning the sport and trying real hard to be succesful. It is real easy for you to make these comments without identifying yourself. I really wish you would identify who you are. Or at least e-mail me. Your anonymous snipes really do ammuse us, in fact these attacks are used for pre-game inspiration, so may e it is you that have made us so succesful. As Bill posted here many months ago, our players and their parents made the commitment to being the best they can be. They play together and individually in various leagues and tournaments. They play ice and roller hockey. They go to clinics and open h ckey as often as possible. And they play in the streets and driveways all the time. Why? Because they love the sport, they know they are good at it, and they want to get better. They made the commitment to be succesful, and they still enjoy it. Anyone c n do it, but the one intangible that can't be learned is the heart and desire to be succesful. So maybe we are lucky, but add that luck to the obviuos skills these kids have, and their enourmous heart and desire to be successful. That is a recipe for success and I am thrilled to have been able to coach this group of kids......even with my lack of ocky knowledge. And i know my fellow coaches all feel the same way. |

Give credit to the Sharks goalie who played a superb game and made some phenomenal saves to keep his team on top. | Comments: Since I am too lazy to update the web page lately, I will post it here. Contratulations Blackhawks. Another fantastic and amazing season for us. We won the Fall 2000, 12-U championship as we went undefeated. We won the 14-U "A" division championship in exciting fashion as we won the best two out three championship series 2 games to zero agaianst the Starzz. With Victor and Jason as our only "14-year-olds" on the team we won it with five of our 12-U players o the 14-U team and five 13-year-olds. What a young team. Our 8-U team ended their four season championship run when they lost in their bid to win their fifth straight championship. It was a close championship game and a tough season. But they were the best for four straight undefeated seasons prior to this on . Oh yeah, and we held our first practice in nearly a year this weekend. Okay, Im bragging. |

If you had any class, rather than "getting into it" with Laura, you would have taken the time to ref ect on the tragedy mentioned in the posting before yours. This tragedy could happen in anyones life and worst of all, a child was involved. This type of incident should make one take the time and reflect on what is really important in life. And hockey rivalries are not really all that important in the grand sc eme of things. I suppose you didn't take a few seconds just to pray for this kid or his family. I didn't know him, but I know so many people that did know him and I saw there pain, and I heard of the pain his family is feeling. |

| Comments: Hey guys i just want to say something here. Last Friday afternoon (11/24/00) my friend Tom Swinden comitted suicide he was ONLY 16. He played for the Bad Apples, NYC Titans, and ISCA Grizzlies if u know any of those teams. We were teammates and friends an it was just so sad that a great hockey player and friend had to do something so desperate as to kill himself over something that was bothering him. Please pray and remember Tom Swinden even if you did or didn't know him. It was really sad for me to see h m lay in that casket and see everybody cry. He had a long future in frot of him and I know it wasn't his time to go. Please if any of you guys have any problems talk to somebody about it. |

| Comments: Three illegally players? That is an interesting comment to make. If you care to elaborate on your accusation, please e-mail me. Or will this be yet another "sniper attack"? We had 6 teams in Rye with a total of nearly 50 hockey players. What makes one of those players illegal? I am going to help you out a little here. No players were deemed to be illegal by Breakout. However after our 17-U and 14-U "A" team played 3 and 2 games respectively, the coach of those teams was informed that players were allowed to play on only one r ster. Unfortunately they had three players on both rosters. This is not only something that has been allowed by Breakout in the past, but also suggested by them two years ago when we tried to pull one of our teams out of the tournament when we were short layers at the last minute. And no matter how many times I look over the rules, there is no stipulation that states players can only play on one roster. I have looked at every set of rules that they made available to us but that rule does not exist. < r> However, I beleive that playing on two rosters is not the best of ideas, because it tends to tire the players out for the important games. But it has never been "not allowed". The three players and coaches were told of this rule and did not play again af er they were told. If they had played, they would have been illegal players at that point. So instead the three 14-year-olds helped the 17-U team win it's division championship and then watched there 14-U team play one of the best defenseive games in Bl ckhawk history. The 14-U team only had 4 skaters. And those four kids played the championship deciding game with more heart and desire that I have ever seen. It was an epic defensive struggle and the 5 Mighty Blackhawks held on to end the game scoreless .... before winning the game and the championship in a shootout. And that brought the total to FIVE Blackhawk teams that will be going to the Championships. Were there illegal players?...NO Was there some confusion over the rules?....YES Did we rectify the problem that arose from the confusion?....YES Did it hurt the Blackhawks or help John J?.....NO it did not hurt us nor did it help John J. And let's not forget #34 for John J. who also played on two teams......but we didn't complain about it. |

| Comments: Well let me say this, I have read the comments or suggerstions and I can tell you this. There are "ALOT" of people who complain about The Howell BlackHawks. They say things like, "you guys shouldn't be playing here your too good, you have alot of arroga ce, you are too physical, yada yada yada ... But let me pose this question to you. Do you love your child(ren)? Are you ready to spend countless hours at ungodly hours with your hockey player practicing, going to tourniments, and camps? Because that i the secret to playing hockey well. You need to spend quality time with your hockey player on and off the rink. Not yell at them if they don't do well or if the other team does better. I tell you this, I have been there and done that! I have gone coas to coast and from Florida to Canada. There isn't much that I haven't seen. It's a shame when I see or hear someone bad mouth someone else just because that other person has the parents who love their hockey player enough to devote the time and effort n cessary to excell at the game. There are less than 1% of gifted poeple who play hockey. That means that the other 99+% who do well, do well because of the effort that they put in it! So if the other team is better or you think that your hockey player isn't good enough, GET OFF THE COUCH! stop making excuses about the other team and spend some time with your hockey player to help them be a better person. PS You don't have to spend lots of money to do this I can remember a time when we played for a team called the Green Gators we would practice in church parking lots after work, in driveways or just out in front of the house with friends ( I can't tell yo how many windows I broke on my house) but your efforts will be rewarded. This I promise! For anyone who doesn't know who this is I'll give you a few clues, 1st we were Green Gators. It took us 2 whole seasons to not get mercied and 1 win a game. #13 2nd then we were Whalers. Again it took 2 seasons to have awinning season, then 4 trips to the finals and 3 championships 3rd BlackHawks 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U? Multiple championships, and Scoring titles #91 4th 99ers. Nationals 2x's #93 Todd Melton is in my opinion the most knowledgable person on the sublect of Roller Hockey. If you can attend his clinic's it'll be well worth it. 5th and finally A Bad Apple #93 The fastest person in the age group in North America This should be a give a way. Oh yea, for anyone wondering we also play ice hockey (but that's another story) |

| Comments: i have friends on the 14u wave and they finished 5th or 6th and they did get into a fight and one of there players was thrown out from too many penalties and a fight , but then after that there was a brawl and they ended the game, i am pretty sure they di nt get d'qued, but however the wave was exited in front of the bleachers and had to skate infront of the crowd to there locker rooms. well a parent from another team screamed something degrading towards the wave, thats when a wave parent went after him wi h a hockey stick and hit him in the arm and got into a fist fight, both men were arrested and then when the wave got home the owner of shore sports heard about the coach getting into a fight the coach was immeadatly fired. see ya |

| Comments: I heard a rumor that the 10-U Wave and the 14-U Wave won the USA Hockey Inline nationals in Chicago....................Then I heard another story. The 10-U team did well and finished with a winning record, but fell short of placing However our favorite group of Blackhawk haters the 14-U Wave did not do quite as well. In fact the rumor that, I heard (from someone that was there) is one of the 14-U Wave's parents created quite a scene. In fact it was such a scene that the team was di qualified from the tournament. I wonder if that parent thought he was playing the Blackhawks.......or was this a typical Wave paraent provoking a better team into a fight? Anybody here anything about this, please post it here. |

| Comments: I believe that the way the rules are, a players age is based on his age as of January 1st of the current year. Right now, the oldest an 8-U player can be is 9-years-old, as long as he turned 9 during 1999. If the rink is doing their job and validating bi th certificates then all 8-U teams should have kids that were all 8 on Jan 1, 1999. I am not quite following your concern here. As far as I know our roster contains only players that meet these age requirements. If you know of a player on our roster or another roster that is too old, let us know and we can look into it. If you have anything else on your mind related to the 8-U team, ages, etc, please feel free to e-mail me. I left my e-mail address and name in this posting to help. Can you do the same next time? I hate to waste guest book signings with this. |

I've played on many diffrent teams besides the blackhawks and I've been with the blackhawks now for about 4 years and I'm proud to say that I'm a blackhawk!
