Play for Glacial Drumlin United!

Deerfield Middle School soccer teams were first established in the Fall 1995 outdoor season. The Glacial Drumlin United (GDU) Soccer Club is a member of MAYSA and Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA). Approximately 400 soccer clubs are in MAYSA with over 13,000 players participating. GDU will have separate girls and boys teams that play within the Madison Area Youth Soccer Association (MAYSA). GDU sponsored twenty teams during the spring 2007 season. Currently, GDU only has recreational soccer teams for the elementary and middle school students.

Who Can Play:

Players in 3rd through 8th grade this fall are invited to play with the Glacial Drumlin United (GDU) soccer club. GDU welcomes players from Cambridge, Cottage Grove, Deerfield, Lake Mills, Marshall and Waterloo.

Where We Play:

Home games are conducted at the Glacial Drumlin United Soccer Park. The fields are located at the intersection of Hwy. BB and Krueger Rd., 3 miles northeast of Deerfield and other area fields in surrounding communities.

Format:

Typically 1-2 practices occur weekly. Coaches will inform their players of the practice and game schedule at least two weeks before the first game.

Typically one game occurs weekly. The fall season runs from September through October and the Spring season runs from April through early June. Each team's schedule consists of eight games against other teams in the greater Madison area. Games may be scheduled on weekday evenings or morning and afternoons on Saturday and Sunday. U-9, U-10, U-11 and U-12 teams may have games on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while U-13 and U-14 teams may have games on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Fees:

The cost will be $120 for the fall and spring season, or $65 for each of the fall and spring seasons if you pay by season. The fall season fee is due at the end of June and the spring season fee is due in January.

Fees are used to pay the MAYSA team fee, uniforms, player practice balls, referee fees, equipment, field maintenance and insurance. Additional funds are generated through donations and running the concession stand.

Equipment:

All new players will receive a new uniform. This uniform will be used for two years, so please order correct size.

The Team provides a team jersey, shorts, soccer socks and practice ball to each new GDU player.

Players provide their own shin guards and soccer cleats or athletic shoes. Shin guards are mandatory and soccer socks must be worn over the shin guards. Baseball cleats are not allowed.
