--A silver mine is discovered near Earsome, causing a brief population boom until the mine runs dry.

-1026/

--Tempest Freion Chagringhost is killed when Netherian arcanists raid Moniker. Chagringhost was working with phaerimm to overthrow and bring down Netheril.

-1022/

--A force of 12,000 orcs unsuccessfully attacks Xanth. The city makes an example of the survivors by using their mythallar to send back the arms of the captives to their clans.

-1020/

--The Netherese arcanist Oberon is born. He becomes the principal proponent of Netheril becoming a spelljamming power. His contemporaries largely ignore him, but he becomes well- respected in Realmspace.

-1014/

--Netheril deserts spelljamming magic and technology as too costly and expensive; this is due, in part, to constant harrying within Realmspace by the Imperial Elven Navy.

-1004/

--The Hazardous Climb Volcano ceases being active and becomes a popular mountaineering spot for explorers and Rengarth barbarians.

-986/

--Lured by abundant caribou, an Iulutian faction moves to Angalpuk and becomes the first of the nomadic Angulutians.

-975/

--The arcanist Buoyance kills his rival Kartaklys.

-973/

--The Netherese arcanist Xanad is born.

-955/

--Arctic Rim is abandoned and falls into ruin. Its residents flee to Sepulcher.

--The arcanist Oberon dies.

--Candelspiere's population peaks at 2000.

--Rumors of winged humans in the Barren Mountains begin to arise. All Netherese expeditions to find them return unsuccessfully.

--The arcanist M'dahl is killed when he attempts to summon a balor tanar'ri and is unable to control it. The balor escapes its captivity, killing all but a handful of fighters, and flees into the North.

-909/

--The Netherese arcanist Candlemas is born.

-885/

--The city of Specie begins to use magic in an attempt to irrigate the land around Mill Lake. They hope to use this farmland to "feed the world."

-883/

--The blue dragon Lightningdance is killed by a group of adventurers who surprise the dragon in the middle of his spring raid.

-871/

--The forked river Lark-Rindle is transformed into a swampland when magic attempting to irrigate the land around Lake Mills fails, creating the Marsh of Deception.

-859/

--Lady Polaris decides to retire from adventuring and takes up residence in the enclave she creates, the city of Delia.

-837/

--The Temple of Time, a large temple of Amaunator, is finished in Trinity.

-836/

--A spelljamming vessel crashes near Westwendt Village. Eyewitnesses report beholder-like shapes within the flames of the downed vessel.
--The crash starts a forest fire that burns thousands of acres of woodland.
--The old black wyrm Acridtooth takes up residence in the Marsh of Deception. Acridtooth is unusual in that he demands tribute from anyone who enters his territiory, rather than eating them.

-835/

--Conch is attacked by phaerimm. The phaerimm destroy the abode of the arcanist Tyvern, and the appearance of the creatures sends shockwaves throughout the community.

-817/

--The arcanist Buoyance destroys his rival Lesten.

-812/

--The Trollflame Wars end with 12,000 trolls dead, and the town of Conifera heavily damaged.

-752/

--A gold mine is discovered in the Dementia Mountain Range.

-709/

--An unknown arcanist designs the process of magically inscribing a tattoo.

--End of the Netherese Age of Discovery. Beginning of the Shadowed Age. (3163 NY)
--Birth of Karsus, the Netherese human who later becomes known as the "child-who-would- be-a-god," "the Unmaker of the Weave," and "the ape who would fly" by the elves.

--Sepulcher's population drops to 15,000.
--The arcanist Candlemas is killed by his rival, Sysquemalyn.
--Karsus casts his first cantrip, at the age of two.

--The Eaerlanni elves begin hiring adventurers and mercinaries to try and rid themselves of the arcanist Xanad who took up residence near the elves.

-689/

--Orcs attack a religious festival near Earsome, killing over 2000 people. This becomes known as the Kraal Book Massacre, and signals the resurgence of orcs near Earsome.

-683/

--The arcanist Xanad's fortress is levelled and looted by a force of over 30 mercinaries and adventurers. Xanads body is never found.

-674/

--Ioulaum perfects the spell Ioulaum's Longevity.
--Karsus creates a mythallar and becomes an archwizard.
--The enclave of Karsus is founded.

-664/Year of Turning Tides

--The remaining Nether Scrolls are stolen en route to the Netherese city of Karsus. A witch- hunt begins, ending seven years later at the expense of 125 lives.

-657/

--The search for the stolen Nether Scrolls ends.

-649/Year of Falling Copper

--Logging returns to normal (pre-Trollflame War levels) at Conifera.
--Orcs from the Dementia Mountains begin to raid Sepulcher.
--Orcs from the Eastern Forest begin to raid extensively into Seventon.

-648/

--The Demiplane of Shadow is discovered.
--Shadow, the first arcanist to theorize the existence of demi-planes, publishes (with the help of Karsus) "Shadows: Palpable Cohesion of Formless Corporeality."

-647/

--The Demiplane of Imprisonment is discovered.
--The arcanist Falious attempts to make an example of Dagger's Point. Unfortunately for Falious, Trothas, the arcanist and ruler of Dagger's Point, is ready for the attempt. Trothas and several of his former apprentices destroy Falious' enclave of Tanathras by disintegrating its mythallar.

-645/

--Gembright, an ancient amethyst wyrm, is driven from the Channel Locks by something unknown. She never returns.
--The red dragon Embercoat attacks Frothwater for the first time. Over te next twenty years, Embercoat raid the town twice seasonally.

-644/

--A large force of humans attacks the orcs in the Hidden Forest. 12,000 orcs and 4,000 human warriors are killed.
--The arcanist Shadelorn finds the Crown of Horns.

-642/

--Jockeleg is visited by the Deshwind cloud giant clan and their floating cloud castle.

-637/

--Holloway's wizards cease to support Halloway, citing other concerns.
--Orcs begin annual raids of Seventon

-625/

--A party of adventurers tracks Embercoat back to his lair and attacks him. They manage to severely wound the wyrm, but are ultimately slaughtered, leaving only the paladin Reliaz Justmarch as a survivor.

-624/

--Reliaz Justmarch confronts the red dragon Embercoat again as the wyrm begins to raid Frothwater. The two fight and kill each other.

-609/

--The arcanist Buoyance attempts to strike at Karsus, but backs down when he realizes Karsus' power.

-559/

--The arcanist Buoyance dies and becomes a lich.

-556/

--The army of Seventon meets the orcs of the Eastern Forest in battle on the plains east of Seventon. Instead of fighting, the orcs outflank the army and attack the city of Jannick, sacking and burning it.

-544/

--Three ancient blue dragons attack Wreathe. These dragons, the children of the wyrm Brightstroke, have returned to avenge their mother's death. The wyrms destroy Wreathe within a fortnight.

-531/

--The bandit-lord Olostin is born.

-511/

--Unity is terrorized by the brutal human bandit Olostin, known as the "Baron of Dread."

-506/

--Jockleleg is visited by a stone giant embassy.
--Wolves raid the ruins of Vandal Station, removing what few bodies are left there. The village is a complete ruin after this point.

-505/

--The orc village of Shantraf is attacked by Earsome warriors and is burned to the ground.

-502/

--Lachery is raised to become an enclave by the arcanist Veridon. Veridon uses his magic, the enclave's magic, and the mythallar to fish the Narrow Sea.

-494/

--Dahla River City is established.

-487/

--The armies of Seventon engage the orcs, but do not underestimate them this time. The orcs are shattered and driven deep into the Eastern Forest.

-485/

--The town of Algid is destroyed by the phaerimm.
--After Algid is destroyed, the residents of Hoyden begin to abandon their homes as they flee south and west.

-478/

--Olostin is killed by a Noanar's Fireball spell when an arcanist and a group of 250 warriors storm the Dread Keep, Olostin's home. The few notes and scattered plans that were found confirm that Olostin was in league with the phaerimm.

-461/

--The phaerimm begin to cast the magic drain spells that create Anauroch by draining all the life out of their areas of effect.

-459/

--The arcanist Veridon perfects his control of Lachery's mythallar so he can separate fish into different types when they are teleported into the storage rooms.

-455/

--Orcs attack Earsome and the farms around it. Earsome's mythallar is destroyed, and the town begins to burn. Earsome is only saved after the enclave of Delia arrives.

-451/

--A gold mine is discovered in the Dementia Mountain Range.

-442/

--A large force of phaerimm attacks Blister. Blister repulses the invaders but never fully recovers from the attack.
--Karsus nearly traps the renegade enclave of Doubloon, but Doubloon disappears as Karsus's enclave closes in. Doubloon is never heard from again.

-439/

--The Temple of Time begins to radiate light so bright it can be seen for miles.

-433/

--Veridon is killed when Wintercloak, an ancient white dragon, is captured in one of the fishing holds of Lachery. Veridon's apprentices kill the wyrm after their master was flashfrozen by the dragon's breath.

-408/

--Karsus discovers heavy magic. In one of his first experiments with heavy magic, Karsus nearly causes his enclave to fall. He removes the heavy magic he created, pushing it over the side of the enclave.
--The heavy magic falls to the ground, where it slays the renegade arcanist Wulgreth, turning him into a lich when the heavy magic absorbs his life energies.

-403/

--The Lodestar Mountain mines are abandoned due to monster infestation.
--The river Dahla floods, nearly sweeping Dahla River City into the lake.

-402/

--Diemondar, the monster of Basin Lake, is destroyed by the phaerimm's life drain spells.

-398/

--The explorer Dienere Falconholfer is born.

-394/

--The Whitewater Bridge is constructed over the Dahla River.

-390/Year of Smoke

--The arcanist Shadow and the bard Alasar Crywinds become involved with one another. Alashar reveals that she was an assassin sent by Shadow's rival, the arcanist Grenway, to kill Shadow for his demiplane researches. The two come up with an alternate plan, and Shadow casts a spell to draw both of them into the demiplane of shadow forever.
--The arcanist Grenway kills a simulacrum of Alashar when it reports that it killed Shadow. Only Shadow, Alashar, and Karsus know what truly happened.

-384/

--The arcanist-lich Buoyance begins to research spells to attack the phaerimm and other enemies of Netheril.

-377/

--The North Fira River is renamed the Dienere River after the explorer Dienere Falconholfer traverses it in a kayak.

-372/Year of Owls' Watching

--The fortress of Ascal's horn is completed by the elves of Eaerlann.

-371/

--The arcanist Ioulaum transforms himself into a lich.

c.-370s

--Work begins on Citadel Adbar, since the Narrow Sea's destruction leaves Delzoun's eastern front exposed.

-369/

--Basin Lake is destroyed by the phaerimms' life drain spells.
--The process of magical tattoos is perfected.

-360/

--An attack of extra-planar fiends raises havoc in the town of Unity. The fiends wish to use Unity as a base from which to attack the enclave of Karsus.
--Westwendt Village is decimated in a single night when it is overrun by fiends. Fires ravage the city. The survivors flee north and west.

-357/

--Karsus finally takes action against the fiends of Unity. They are either ejected from the Prime Material Plane, or destroyed outright by an application of heavy magic imbued with Oberon's Dismissal or Aksa's Disintegrate spells.

356-/

--The town of Grog becomes a ghost-town, supposedly haunted by the ghosts of men who died here because of the grog the town was famous for.

-354/Year of Many Maws (NOTE: The Netheril box set gives the name of this year as the Year of Many Moons)

--The first recorded clash between sharn and phaerimm occurs this year.
--Illusk is re-founded in this year after a Netherese arcanist rebuilds the city with magic, losing his life in the process.

-347/

--Morian arrives in Karsus and applies for a job with the constabulary.

-345/

--Magically mutated beings begin to infiltrate Unity. It is believed that Karsus' use of heavy magic is causing the anomalies.
--The Terraseer appears in Karsus and warns that the goddess Mystryl is about to face her greatest challenge - one that will change the way the Netherese view magic for all time.

-344/

--The arcanist Gneissenau perfects a method of extracting 24-karat gold from gold-bearing ore.

-342/

--Shadelorn discovers a method to make a more powerful mythallar.
--The arcanist Shenandra develops a counter spell to the phaerimm's life drain and magic drain spells. Her spell negates the effect caused by the phaerimm's spells.
--The Crown of Horns perverts Shadelorn's improved mythallar so that it absorbs all magical items, memorizable spells, and continuous spell effects within a 20-mile radius. The result is that all arcanists that had extended their life through magical means are reduced to ash, Shenandra is killed before her spell can be passed on, Shadowtop Borough's mythallar is destroyed, and the enclave crashes into the Jannick River.
--Orcs attack Earsome en masse. The city is destroyed, burned to its foundations.

-341/

--Lady Arilain, the archwizard of Opus, discovers through her divination magic that Karsus is about to cast his Karsus' Avatar spell. She warns the other wizards of Opus, and then goes to confront Karsus. She is never seen again.

-339/Year of the Sundered Webs

--"Dangerous Games"
--Ioulaum disappears.
--Karsus casts the 12th level spell Karsus Avatar and all magic ceases for a time, returning much changed.
--The Fall of Netheril; all enclaves fall to earth and are destroyed. (3520 NY)
- --The enclave of Buoyance falls. However, rumors tell of the survival of Buoyance the lichlord.
- --The cloud giants of the Channel Mountains save the inhabitants of the city of Harborage.
- --Quagmire plummets into the Marsh of Simplicity. The survivors battle their way out while the ruins are taken over by the lizard king Gr'Zhad and his lizard men followers.
- --Northreach is abandoned when its residents head west into the Savage Frontier.
- --Nyanza Lake begins to freeze as the weather magic keeping it thawed fails.
- --The enclave of Shade is apparently pulled into the Demiplane of Shadow. Its fate is never determined.
- --Trinity is abandoned when the Temple of Time ceases to shine and the sky above becomes crowded with storms and clouds blocking the sun from shining.
- --Lady Polaris is killed when the enclave of Delia crashes to the ground.
- --Jockteleg crashes to the ground, but rumors of its' ruler, the arcanist Quantoul, surviving the Fall circulate through the survivor states of Netheril.
--Mystryl is destroyed, but is replaced by Mystra, the new goddess of magic, who forever strips 10th level and greater magic from humanity.
--Anauria, Asram, and Hlondath (the survivor states) arise out of the rubble of Netheril, saved by Mystra.

-337/

--Seventon's universities and churches are burned. Soon thereafter, the city is razed by a surprise force of orcs.

-336/

--Scourge is abandoned. The city is consumed by the earth, and magical fire rages though the streets.

-335/

--Conch is abandoned after being buried in an avalanche.
-- Conifera falls to the trolls after a eight month battle led by Gilomide, a paladin. This became known as the "Flametongue Excursion" after the paladin's holy sword.

-333/Year of Humbling Havens

--The elves of Eaerlann allow some Netherese to settle in Ascalhorn, provided they relearn elven magic and abandon their abusive powers of the past centuries. To practice any Netherese magics in the city is a great crime, and is punishable ny banishment or death.

-330/

--Nyanza Lake ceases to exist as it is frozen solid.

-326/

--The lich Wulgreth destroys a city built near Karsus's stony dead form in retribution.

-316/

--An expedition to find the Last Ditch River, the headwaters of Nyanza Lake, is organized by Dienere Falconholfer. It is believed that Dienere dies on this expedition, but no body was ever found, only a diary 30 years later.

-312/

--Blister is taken by the kobolds of the Rat's Tail clan.

-307/Year of Illuminated Vellums

--A platinum mine is discovered in the Dementia Mountain Range.

-298/

--The city of Karse is built.

-295/

--Specie is abandoned as the desert encroaches on it.

-291/Year of the Setting Suns

--Netherese citizens fleeing conflicts between the Survivor States begin to filter into Cormanthyr.

-287/

--The city of Karse falls victim to the begrudging followers who believe the god Karsus is a sham.

-286/

--Dienere Falconholfer's diary is discovered. In it are notes of the last days of his expedition to find the Last Ditch River. Dienere apparently found the beginnings of a river, but the narrative ends there.

-270/

--Holloway is completely abandoned, being one of the last Netherese towns to disappear.

-259/

--Candelspiere is abandoned and swallowed by the sand.

-255/Year of Furious Waves

--Moniker is sacked by the Hlondathans. The temple of Kozah is destroyed and the city is burned to the ground.
--Sepulcher is abandoned, as its' soil is now too sandy for logging or farming.

-210/

--Anauria gains its independence from the other two Netheril survivor states.

-205/Year of Good Hunting

--Anauria's success as an independant city-state convinces Hlondath and Asram to abandon memories of Netheril.

-169/

--Rumor's of Ioulaum's continued existence begin circulating when an arcanist, Tabra, claims to have been an apprentice of Ioulaum.

c.-100

--Fall of Delzoun to encroaching phaerimm and other dangers; surface Citadels survive.

-33/Year of Slowing Sands

--Talona fights the goddess Kipyutto and kills her. During the conflict, each goddess unleashes a series of virulent plagues upon Asram, hoping to draw power from the peoples' prayers.
--Asram falls victim to the plagues, from which there are no survivors.

--Ioulaum is reportedly slain in a spellbattle with a cabal of alhoon (illithiliches).

10/Year of Dreams

--The Netheril region is renamed Anauroch after the greatest of its' two survivor states.

111/Year of Fallen Guards

--The kingdom of Anauria falls to an orc invasion, though it ensures the mutual destruction of the horde, and orc numbers are reduced for centuries in this area. (NOTE: The Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting mistakenly gives this date as c.200 DR)

199/Year of the Cold Enchanter

--Hlondath instigates the Crown Against the Scepter Wars, intent on raiding Cormanthyr for magic. The skirmishes happen once every three years or so, and are more annoying than damaging, but they bleed away forces that could fight the drow of the Twisted Tower.

306/

--The Karsus Overwash is renamed Winding Water.

308/Year of Promise

--The Crown Against the Scepter Wars end as Cormanthyr makes it clear the Hlondathans are to cease or be destroyed by the elves. Until this year, little loss of life occured during the war, though the Hlondathans were sorely outmatched in weapons and skills.

329/Year of the Closed Scroll

--Hlondath's grain fields are consumed by the expansion of Anauroch, and the city-state is abandoned, its folk migrating east beyond the Moonsea or south into the Dales and beyond. Once Hlondath itself is overrun by the desert, Anauroch ceases its spread, much to the relief of those in Cormanthyr. Hlondath's people flee east to the Moonsea or south to the Dales and beyond.
