Independent Project: Week of April 19

Are you prepared to DO what your teaching career will be devoted to accomplishing for your students---- making them independent learners? Let's see!

I. Goals

In my absence, the class will address the following goals:

a. master the important concepts in Chapter 4
b. solve "problems" posed to you regarding chapter 4
c. locate at least two web sites connected to themes in chapter 4

II. Procedures

The following are broad guidelines for accomplishing the goals by Monday, April 26

a. decide whether you will go it alone or become part of a team which divides up the tasks
b. each person/or team submits the worksheet for chapter 4
c. attached to the worksheet must be two home pages featuring either "progressive education" or any of the prominent educators mentioned in chapter 4--- especially John Dewey
d. Each person or team submits also the answers to problems posed on the web site on Sunday, April 18 Each person or a spokesperson for the team must e-mail me or post a message on the web site message board at least once giving me a progress check between Monday, April 19 and
12 noon Sunday, April 25.

III. Other details

a. E-mail address: svasta@email.njin.net
b. Week 12 of the daily planner will be used for "problem questions"
c. If you are the spokesperson for a team, be sure to include the team's names when you contact me
d. NO late work on this project is accepted
e. Failure to contact me is an absence and a quiz grade of ZERO

Final Word: Your work is material for the next test. Keep track of it and each other. You're in this together!
