After months of preparations, the SBCHS'75 Lions finally ROARED ! This year's Ball was our biggest ever to date. We doubled last year's capacity with around 200 guests by holding the Ball in La Canada Flintridge Country Club's Grand Ballroom. Joining us this year are long lost batchmates Anthony Torres of SoCal, Rey Mescallado from NY and Gerry Duran from Florida. First time attendees included Dr. Jun David from NY, Wally Buhay and PP2 from NorCal. And returning once again is Ray Reyes of Texas plus other NorCal 'regulars'.
The capacity crowd wouldn't have been possible without the presence of the multi-awarded, popular Philippine singer, Ms. Joey Albert. Ms. Albert entertained us with a number of Christmas songs that included a popular Carpenter's tune and Ryan Cayabyab's "Kumukutikutitap", a playful Tagalog song for kids. She received a standing ovation for her Sergio Mendez medley, which surely brought back memories of the '60s and '70s for a lot of us. The show was not complete without singing her popular song "Tell Me" and was followed up by "I Remember the Boy", that had a lot of her fans singing with her.
