The University of Kankan is the nation's second university (after the
University of Conakry). Enrollment has been growing steadily over the last
few years and currently the student body numbers nearly 2000.
Academically, the University is divided into two facultés
or schools: the faculty or school of natural sciences and the faculty or
school of social sciences. Each school is led by a doyen (dean) and is
further subdivided into departments as follows:
