The same technique was also applied to HLA-DPB, -DQ, -DX, and -DOB typing.? _Introduction of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based techniques such as sequence specific oligonucleotide (SSO) typing, and amplified fragment length polymorphism? (AFLP) typing for the determination of HLA-DRB1, -DRB3, -DRB4, -DRB5, -DP, -DQB1, and DQA1 typing.? _Monitoring of the DR and DQ subtyping methods to maintain the highest degree of subtyping possible. This also involves the development of methods to apply sequence? specific priming (SSP) as a problem solving technique in HLA class II subtyping.? _Programming of an algorithm for the determination of HLA alleles from restriction enzyme results.? _Programming of a Laboratory data base to store typing results and issue reports.?
