Books that I enjoy Reading
One of my hobbies that I tend to do more oft than not is reading. If I discover a good book, I will often spend several nights reading rather than sleeping to finish a good story. Books provide an outlet for a creative imagination like mine. In that line, the books that I really enjoy allow the greatest imaginative effect. I like fantasy, sci-fi, and novels. I have tried to provide a brief discussion of each type below and also specific web pages for each type of book that I enjoy.
I tend to like fantasy more than the others due to the ability given by the authors to the readers of visualization or imaging the landscape and surroundings of the characters and the depth to which the reader can become a part of the story. Of the numerous fantasy authors, I have a few that I like in particular. They are Robert Jordan, George RR Martin, Raymond E. Feist, David Eddings, and Frank Herbert. You can go to my fantasy page to read more about my opinions of each.
If I can't find a good fantasy book to read, then I tend to go to Sci-Fi. I haven't read many sci-fi books recently for several reasons. The foremost reason is that the fantasy books have me enthralled and it is hard to break out of a good fantasy book. The sci-fi books that I did like were mainly by David Drake, Orson Scott Card, Michael Stackpole, and Kevin J. Anderson. Two of there are Star Wars writers, one is a Matrix like writer, and the other is a futurist completely. Go to my Sci-Fi page to figure out which is which.
The main novels that I have read lately are by Tom Clancy. I have really enjoyed his series of books with John Clark and companions. Go to my Novels page to find out more about my opinions on some of his books and other novelists that I like.
