(1) Geoffrey de Charroux, died 890. Married an unknown woman and had son Sulpice.

(2) Sulpice de Charroux, Count of la Marche, born about 850. Son of Geoffrey and an unknown woman. Married an unknown woman and had son Boso.

(3) Boso I, Count of la Marche, born 905. Died 975. Son of Sulpice and an unknown woman. Married Emme of Perigord and had son Adalbert.

(4) Adalbert I, Count of la Marche, born 945, died 997. Son of Boso and Emme. Married Almodis de Limoges and had son Bernard.

(5) Bernard I, Count of la Marche, born 974. Died 1047. Son of Adalbert and Almodis. Married Amelia de Montignac and had daughter Almodis.

(6) Almodis of la Marche, born about 1020. Daughter of Bernard and Amelia. Almodis was one of the more colorful women of the Middle Ages, marrying three times. As follows:

(*) She married firstly to Hugh V
de Lusignan, and had by him son Hugh VI. Hugh then died and she then wed:

(*) She married secondly to Pons, Count of Toulouse. She divorced him and was abducted by:

(*) Ramon
Berenger, the Count of Barcelona, and she presented him with twin sons. Almodis was then murdered by her stepson Peter, Ramon's son from his first marriage, who feared she would try to claim his inheritance for her own sons. He was then disinherited and exiled by his irate father.
