FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 5-30-98

US Senator Carol Moseley-Braun from Illinois has an excellent progressive record on the things we need most: better schools, energy and environment reform, better conditions and opportunities for women, children and all ethnic groups, research and education to help farmers and other groups, improved computer access for schools and others, general safety issues, higher minimum wage and other needed labor advances, better health care for low income people, movement toward international peace and justice, campaign finance reform, reducing violent crime and drug abuse, and increasing human rights throughout the world. She is especially commended for her really tough stance against Big Tobacco. For all of the above reasons, Senator Carol Moseley-Braun has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
