FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 12-16-2006

Kirsten Gillibrand is Democratic U.S. Congresswoman Elect for New York's 20th district. She is a friend of conservation who will fight for research and development of renewable energy sources, for standards necessary to reduce power plant pollution, for no snowmobiles, jet skis, aircraft over-flights and off-road vehicles in national parks. She is for increased conservation on the nation's farms. She is for affordable health insurance, affordable retirement and industry jobs in America. She is for fiscal dicipline, reducing the deficit, ending dependence on Middle East oil, fixing Medicare part D, affordable college and helping Iraq instead of bombing it. She is the first woman to represent the 20th district. She graduated from the first all-women's high school in the USA. She served as a law clerk in the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and as Special Counsel to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. She did many pro-bono cases including abused women and children. She is Chair of the Women's Leadership Forum Network and on the board of the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy Committee.
