FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 11-4-2006

Tammy Duckworth is the Army Major who lost both of her legs in Iraq when her helicopter was hit by an RPG. She is running for Congress against state Senator Peter Roskam, a conservative Republican. She believes the decision to invade Iraq was an error which was badly executed. Every major Illinois newspaper endorses Tammy. She thinks we should return to the path of balanced budgets. She believes we should fight for clean water, clean air, healthier, less polluted communities and real energy independence. She believes we should leave Iraq sooner rather than later by better training of Iraqis and transfering security to Iraqis. She believes in embryonic stem cell research and other medical advances to create a healthier long-lived citizenry. She demands that the scandalous scams the current Congress embraces should be investigated and ended and that "earmarks" should be abolished. She believes the Congress needs greatly expanded ethics and greatly reduced scams.
