FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 10-14-2006

Kelly Dougherty is co-founder of Iraq Veterans Against the War. She speaks througout the USA and other countries with fellow members who oppose the war. She served in Iraq from April 03 to February 04. She opposes the war and the occupation of Iraq. They work with Senators and House members to try to "Bring Them Home Now" and to get better care for soldiers who have been injured physically and mentally. Instead of prompt and proper treatment they get intimidated and harassed which only makes their conditions worse. Conditions in Iraq were bad before this latest war which only made things much worse for most Iraqis. Iraqis are bombed, arrested, detained, shot, killed, imprisoned and tortured while most of them are innocent of any violent activity. Nine months of her ten months there the soldiers had no translator so they couldn't even speak with Iraqis. The military in Iraq only gets Fox News shown to them which is primarily Bushie-approved brainwashing. It would be nice to have a democracy in Iraq but this is impossible under occupation.
