FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 7-29-2006

Suzanne Swift is the U.S. Army Specialist who is a veteran of the Iraq War and a sexual assault survivor. Swift refused to redeploy to Iraq, a hell-hole of death, dismemberment and rape. She was arrested by the Army and is now confined to Ft. Lewis base where she is seeking an honorable discharge with full benefits. The Army reality in this Iraq War situation is numerous rapes of servicewomen by servicemen. It seems that the worst mistake a woman can make today is to join the U.S. Army. The military has refused in the recent past to enforce its own policies on sexual harrassment and rape and, in fact, has created danger for the few women who dared to report abuse. It is so sick the degree of harrassment women soldiers undergo, especially in Iraq duty. They suffer the hell of being bombed by Iraq insurgents and on top of that they suffer the hell of being abused by male soldiers. Of course, the real perpetrators of all these problems are the war criminal Bushies. For standing up for truth and justice for women soldiers, Suzanne Swift has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
