David Sirota wrote Hostile Takeover: How Big Money and Corruption Conquered Our Government - and How We Take it Back, a New York Times best seller. He knows the Democratic establishment is too much in bed with big money/corruption to be an effective electoral opponent of Republican hegemony. He worked for Independent Rep. Bernie Sanders and the U.S. House Appropriations Committee Democrats on major criminal investigations of Jack Abramoff, Tom Delay and Duke Cunningham scandals. He helped Brian Schweitzer become Montanna's first Democratic governor in sixteen years. He is a senior editor at In These Times magazine. His work appears online, in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Nation, Al Franken's radio show, CNN, MSNBC, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times, Baltimore Sun, PBS NOW and NPR. He was formerly a fellow at the Center for American Progress. He worked on several campaigns. He has his own great blog (also published at Working for Change) and is a contributing bloger at The Huffington Post. He is founder and co-chair of Progressive States Network. For creating a blueprint for the survival of democracy in the USA, David Sirota has been named Futuresaver of the Week. Click the links below for more information.
