Jessica Pierce is the lead author of The Ethics of Environmentally-Responsible Health Care, 2003. Doctor Pierce is Assistant Professor, Department of Preventive and Societal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. If her advice had been followed by medical/drug corporations, by junk food corporations, by American corporations in general, by medical doctors, by the health insurance corporations and by medical drug agencies of USA governments we Americans would be a lot more healthy with vigorous happiness persisting into ripe old age for many more of us. She explains why it is that Americans are much less healthy than British, Japanese and other comparable societies. Pierce also lectures in the Department of Philosophy, University of Colorado. An industry that is devoted to spending ever more money on health is an industry which creates so much damage to the environment that it is causing people to die younger and sicker from carcinogenic and other pollutants. It is an industry that gives people so many pills that are hazardous to health that it shortens their lives. We need a revolution toward safer, cheaper, less toxic and more effective treatments. For bringing truth to a health care juggernaut that is out of control, Dr. Jessica Pierce has been named Futuresaver of the Week. Click the links below for more information.
