FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 2-4-2006

Larry Wilkerson was Chief of Staff to Secretary of State Colin Powell 2002-2005. Lawrence B. Wilkerson is a retired Colonel U.S. Army and served under Colin Powell from 1989 until Powell's retirement 1993. He then served at the U.S. Marine Corps War College. In 1997 Wilkerson began working for Powell in a private capacity. Wilkerson has also written extensively on military and national security affairs. He is an excellent critic of Bush administration policies and is especially critical of Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, the two prime causes of the extensive antidemocratic and disaster-creating Bush administration policies/blunders. He says their foreign policy is reckless and imperils the future of the U.S. military and that it is a radical administration not a real Republican one. He says Cheney/Rumsfeld are pushing a secret messianic agenda that is divorced from rational and practical realities. He says the torture agenda is appalling and irrational, that the Iraq invasion is a blunder of historic proportions and that their ineptitude is astonishing.
