Ian Fishback is the Army Captain who did the most honorable combat thing open to him: combating the gross, immoral and savage Cheney/Bush torture policy. He knows that inhumane torture is/was standard practice by some coalition forces in both Afghanistan and Iraq. When Rumsfeld gave false testimony to Congress he had to blow the whistle on torturous lies and worse. He had tried for many months to go up the chain of command but was stonewalled. He finally wrote to Senator McCain who was decent enough to take appropriate action. The letter sped the passage of an ammendment banning torture and caused a Pentagon investigation. Rumsfeld angrily launched a campaign to break or destroy Fishback which is an excellent indicator of the truth of Fishback's allegations and Rumsfeld is in agreement with the other sickos at the top of the Bush Administration. For blowing the whistle on substandard human behavior at high levels of the Bush administration which caused substandard human behavior further down the chain of command, Captain Ian Fishback has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
