Susan Wood was the top Food and Drug Administration official in charge of women's health issues. She resigned in September because top FDA officials made decisions about women's health care based on superstitions and dogmas instead of science and health. Women's health care is being degraded by Bushie zealots. Clinical evidence is ignored and replaced with women-bashing. Susan previously worked as a research scientist at Johns Hopkins University. The FDA has lost all credibility with decent and thinking people. It is as if Bush shouted at the FDA, "Do not do anything reasonable or rational just obey my orders without question. If I appoint a corrupt veternarian to do human drug work, obey without question. If I appoint a corrupt criminal to the FDA, obey without question for I am God's choice to give medical orders." For fulfilling her job description to "be a champion for women's health" and for fighting against those at the FDA and White House who bash women instead of helping them, Susan Wood has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
