FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 10-1-2005

Michael Ratner is an international human rights lawyer who is the President of Center for Constitutional Rights. The CCR filed the first lawsuits on behalf of people detained as suspected terrorists in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. CCR got the Supreme Court to rule that Guantanamo detainees have the right to challenge the detentions in court. Prestigious law firms soon followed up on the CCR legal victory. CCR joins many other international human rights organizations in condemning the inhumane conditions that detainees face in the US, Canada, Iraq and many other nations. CCR holds governments and corporations accountable for numerous violations of human rights and violations of racial, social and economic justice. CCR also files suits that challenge numerous cases of unconstituional acts and policies. Ratner knows that there is a conspiracy at the top of the USA government to commit torture of numerous detainees to increase intelligence accompanied by a conspiracy to cover up these bestial and mostly fruitless acts. Also, numerous detainees are sent to other decadent countries to be tortured there. For bringing truth and justice to decadent governments and corporations that are addicted to lies and injustice, Michael Ratner has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
