Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz of Pennsylvania's 13th district is a member of the Budget Committee and of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (and of its Highways, Transit and Pipelines and Water Resources and Environment subcommittees. She led the effort to create the Pennsylvania State Children's Health Insurance Program, a national model (when a Pennsylvania state Senator). She has an excellent environmental record. Unlike the Bush, she is fiscally-responsible. She has a record of strong support for veterans, public schools, women and families, Hurricane Relief, safety, health care, home security, energy independence, human rights, the arts, transportation, EMILY'S List, public transit, Social Security, the Philadelphia Health Plan, women's health center, quality standards for mammograms, quality health insurance, pre-schools, full-day kindergarten, reduced class sizes, college loan forgiveness for child care workers, reduced domestic violence, biotech greenhouses and reuse of abandoned commercial properties.
