FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 7-30-2005

The American Civil Liberties Union exists to protect the liberties and rights of all Americans regardless of their individual and collective differences and politics and religious status and financial status and legal status and racial status and sexual status and medical status and age status. It also exists to help protect the international rights of all the world's citizens from any government that deviates in any way from international standards of decency, honesty and transparency. The ACLU recognizes the importance of listening to and publicizing the revelations of whistleblowers who uncover and publicize any kind of governmental or corporate wrongdoing and of protecting them from savage retribution. The ACLU recognizes the numerous ways the current administration is violating human rights and is taking appropriate legal actions. The ACLU knows that the Patriot Act has many aspects that violate constitutional standards. The ACLU knows that many USA military and other prisons violate international standards of decency. For doing the best that it can to publicize and eliminate laws and actions that cause human rights/liberties violations, the American Civil Liberties Union has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
