FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 1-22-2005

Nikky Tinsley is Inspector General of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She knows that the only rules worth following are those that make sense and will create good results if followed diligently. She has issued investigative reports that hightlight those EPA rules which damage the environment or otherwise do not effectively protect the peoples and other lifeforms that inhabit the environment. She does not hesitate to point out glaring defects in Bush administration environmental rules, policies and rhetoric. She points out where the air quality has not gotten better or has actually gotten worse, making people sicker instead of healthier. She knows precisely where waste, fraud, abuse and sickness has been created. She knows that existing EPA rules about mercury emissions are inadequate and sickening. Being an independent, she knows that Republican and Democratic administrations have both had environmental defects. Most of her audits and evaluations are done without notice which is the most effective way to detect deficiencies, mistakes and corruptions.
