Congressman Chris Van Hollen of Maryland's 8th district has a 100% environmental score for 2003, according to the League of Conservation Voters. He is a member of the Committee on Education and the Workforce and of its Subcommittees on 21st Century Competitiveness and Education Reform. He is also a member of the Committee on Government Reform and of its Subcommittees on Civil Service and Agency Organization; Energy Policy, Natural Resources and Regulatory Affairs. In addition to his excellent environmental record, Chris has an Impressive progressive record on affordable health care for all, 9-11 Commission Legislation, veterans, student loans, Internal Revenue Service, good jobs, safe communities, budget deficits, government accountability, secrecy, prosperity for all, national security, educational opportunity, privatization, overpriced government contracts, fair competition, gun violence, adoption, tobacco, foreign policy, civil rights, human rights, libraries, torture and abuse, multiculturalism, government and corporate waste, reproductive rights, women's issues, children's issues, science and technology and on many other issues.
