Ilana Wexler is the 12-year old seventh grader from Oakland CA who founded Kids for Kerry and who spoke at the Democratic National Convention. She said Dick Cheney should take a time-out for using "a really bad word". Teresa Heinz Kerry invited her to the convention. Ilana skipped summer camp to volunteer with the Kerry campaign. She has the potential to become a senator or mayor or even the President of the USA. Her Kids for Kerry website has links to the No Name Calling Petition, her speech, fund raising, movies and sound clips of recent public appearances, 295 Questions Presidential Quiz, John Kerry interview, Teresa Heinz Kerry letter/interview and other links. For seeing more clearly than most adults what the future needs and for doing more things to help the future than most adults do, Ilana Wexler has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
