FUTURESAVER OF THE WEEK ENDING 8-21-2004

Dr. Isam Khafaji is the Dutch-Iraqi economist and social scientist who resigned from the Iraqi Reconstruction and Development Council, working with the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq because of the lack of real Iraqi involvement. The USA systematically excluded the views of Iraqis brought in to help. The Americans wanted puppets not genuine Iraqis (typical Empire behavior). The Americans put ideology ahead of reality which explains why they cannot control the decent people of Iraq (puppets are not decent people). It also explains why the USA is killing so many Iraqis and why the US troops are suffering so many casualties. Occupying powers tend to be total jerks who have lost the ability to know when the time has come to begin to withdraw troops and to admit the mistakes of empire. Isam knows the tremendous power of corruption to make huge war profits in occupied countries. For knowing what Iraq really needs to survive in decency and for telling Americans to take their empire and shove it, Dr. Isam Khafaji has been named Futuresaver of the Week.
