Anita Roddick founded The Body Shop in 1976. It has grown to over 2000 stores in many countries. It features animal/environmental-friendly body-friendly products. She has helped the environment and the political scene in many ways: promoting re-use, refill and recycle, using natural products, pursuing social and environmental change, opposing destructive practises and human rights abuses, opposing abuses of multinational corporations and helping create sustainable development. She has backed many worthy campaigns and has won many awards. She helped start the Trade Justice Movement. She conceived the book, Brave Hearts, Rebel Spirits: A Spiritual Activists Handbook written by Brooke Shelby Biggs. Anita wrote the book, Take it Personally: How to Make Conscious Choices to Change the World, with many other contributors. Anita's latest book is A Revolution in Kindness. She also wrote Business as Unusual: The Triumph of Anita Roddick. She knows that the Bush is doing more harm than good and that there are many unjustly imprisoned in the USA.
